Military legal assistance offices handle a wide range of family law matters including custody arrangements, family care plans, divorce guidance, and adoption assistance. All single parents and dual-military couples with dependents must maintain a current Family Care Plan.

Family Care Plans: Single parents and dual-military couples must complete DD Form 1342 designating short-term and long-term caregivers. Failure to maintain a current plan can affect your deployability and may be grounds for administrative separation.
