Civil Legal Protections
When you're deployed, you shouldn't lose a legal case simply because you can't appear in court. The SCRA and other laws provide powerful protections to stay proceedings, prevent default judgments, and protect your property while you serve.
Act immediately: If you receive any legal papers or court notices while deployed, contact your JAG office right away. They can file motions on your behalf to delay proceedings. Do not ignore legal notices — inaction can result in default judgments.
