MS3 — Junior Year
Year 3Advanced Course: Contract year. Attend Advanced Camp (CST) at Fort Knox. Lead platoon-level operations. Monthly stipend begins.
MS4 — Senior Year
Year 4Advanced Course: Battalion-level leadership, branch selection based on OML, and commissioning preparation.

Cadet Summer Training at Fort Knox, KY — 30 days, mandatory for commissioning. Your Camp Order (performance ranking) feeds directly into the national Order of Merit List (OML), which determines your branch selection. Top OML scores get first pick: Infantry, Aviation, Armor. Lower OML scores receive support branches.
Based on the national OML: GPA + ACFT score + Camp Order + other factors.
- Top OML: Combat arms (Infantry, Aviation, Armor, Special Forces)
- Mid OML: Combat support branches
- Lower OML: Support & sustainment branches
- Scholarship cadet: 4 years active duty + 4 years IRR
- Non-scholarship contracted: 4 years active + 4 years IRR, or 8 years reserve
Commission as 2nd Lieutenant (2LT), O-1 pay grade. Proceed to BOLC for branch-specific officer training.
