Data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (2024) and the Census Bureau's Veterans Employment Outcomes (VEO, January 2025) show where veterans go after separating.

Veteran advantage: The 2024 veteran unemployment rate (3.0%) was lower than non-veterans (3.9%). Government sector veterans earn a real premium: 19.5% of veterans work in government vs. 2.1% of non-veterans.
